Ayurveda recommends adjusting food and routine with the seasons, called ritucharya. These tips are simple to follow.
Monsoon habits
- Eat freshly cooked, warm and lightly spiced food.
- Drink boiled or filtered water, and avoid street food and raw salads.
- Keep your surroundings dry and clean.
Winter habits
- Wear warm clothes and keep your chest and throat covered.
- Have warm soups, ginger tea and seasonal fruit.
- Stay active, and do not skip sleep.
Traditional herbs
Giloy and Tulsi are traditionally used in Ayurveda to support immunity during seasonal changes. They are not a replacement for medical care.
When to see a doctor
Please see a doctor if you notice:
- Fever lasting more than two to three days.
- Breathing difficulty or chest pain.
- Any symptom in an infant or older person that worries you.
